Quantum’s iLevel Seat Elevation Reaches 25,000 Users

Thursday, April 25, 2019

DURYEA, PA – iLevel® seat elevation technology by Quantum Rehab® is now in use by more than 25,000 consumers. The milestone was attained today when iLevel Power Chair number 25,000 went through production.

Released in 2015, iLevel is a power seat elevating system that promotes independence and social inclusion. As iLevel elevates, the power base reinforces stability electronically and mechanically to ensure safety at 12 inches of elevation while driving at 4.5 mph, an industry first! iLevel’s patented Extra Stability Technology® enhances safety for transfers, reach and numerous other activities of daily living.

“With iLevel, our consumers have achieved greater independence to do the things they love,” said Jay Brislin, Vice President of Quantum Rehab. “iLevel is being asked for by name from people who use power wheelchairs. This technology is successful not just because consumers recognize what it can do for them, but also because payors are beginning to realize power seat elevation is a necessity and not a luxury.”

Stephanie Woodward, a Quantum consumer advocate, says she uses iLevel much of the day while working as an attorney, and also at home.

“iLevel allows me to reach the stove and microwave in my kitchen so I can independently make meals,” Woodward said. “Cooking is so much easier now that I can reach things. I can’t imagine my life without iLevel.”

Quantum Donates Life-Changing iLevel Power Chair

Recipient’s position at Walmart was in jeopardy due to a change in the job description.

MIDDLEBURG, PA – Quantum Rehab® donated a life-changing iLevel® Power Chair to Adam Catlin yesterday afternoon.

Catlin, 30, who has cerebral palsy, works as a greeter at the Selinsgrove Walmart Supercenter in Pennsylvania, and was recently in the news as he was in jeopardy of losing his position due to a change in job requirements that he would be unable to fulfill. Though Catlin will stay at Walmart as a self-checkout host, Quantum recognized that he still needed a better way to get around both at work and at home.

“It’s going to open up a whole new world for me,” Catlin said.

Catlin had been using a specialized walker but was dragging one of his feet along the ground to the point of wearing through two pairs of shoes each month.

“For the first time, Adam was able to go to the refrigerator himself, go outside by himself and sit at the countertop bar to converse and eat with his family,” said Mike Dicello, a Quantum Rehab Product Specialist who has been working with Adam to get him a power chair. “iLevel’s 12 inches of power seat elevation while driving up to 4.5 miles per hour will give Adam independence. He and his family are so humbled and appreciative.”

Customized specifically for him, the Evolution Orange shrouds on Adam’s chair represent his love for his favorite baseball team, the Baltimore Orioles.

“Adam has a great sense of humor,” Dicello said. “He wore his ‘Proud to be a Yankees hater’ Orioles shirt knowing I am a Yankees fan.”
