Quantum Unveils Customer-Inspired Enhanced Website

Thursday, July 7, 2016

EXETER, PA – Quantum Rehab® is pleased to announce the launch of its enhanced website dedicated to meeting the expanding content and application wishes of complex rehab consumers, clinicians and providers.

“Our customers shared with us that they wanted unprecedented virtual access to our products, from technical specifications to 360-degree views, videos and beyond,” explains Jim Schreiber, Vice President of Digital and Product Marketing. “Their input told us that no matter if it’s a consumer, clinician or provider, all wish an exceptionally content-rich site that places an unequalled amount of product information and resources in one, easy-to-navigate website.”

The result is the redesigned, technologically-enhanced Quantum website. Beginning with expanded product pages that not only include added product information and materials, but such aspects as interactive color palettes, there is also expansive seating and electronics content. Beyond product specifications and materials, consumer, clinician and provider resources abound. Consumers can click to be contacted by a provider, and clinicians and providers can go to their resource areas, ranging from education to the provider portal.

“From a technology perspective, we had two primary goals – to have exceptional access to vast product information and resources, and to have it accessible from almost any device,” shares Ed Gillespie, General Manager of Web Development and Applications. “The rehab professionals working in the field rely more and more on mobile devices, so we’ve invested heavily in creating the new website to function optimally across the widest range of platforms. They have full access to the site on a desktop computer, tablet or smartphone, no matter viewing or downloading materials.”

The enhanced website features a clear consumer-inspired theme, representative of Quantum’s commitment to the quality-of-life of complex rehab consumers. “We know that complex rehab consumers seek our products both out of medical need and to pursue the most socially-inclusive lives possible, so we’ve designed the site to be as user-centric as possible,” explains Megan Kutch, Director of Quantum Product Marketing. “While we sought to build in the most product information and resources possible, we also wanted clear content representative of the everyday lives our consumers live.”

To interact with the enhanced website, please visit https://www.quantumrehab.com .

Remembering Shane O’Neill

Life is full of obstacles, but they never stopped Shane O’Neill from forging his own path. Smart, passionate and spirited, Shane persevered in all areas of his life. Nothing could hold him back.

Shane grew up in Windsor, N.Y. When he was 12 years old, a tragic swimming accident left him paralyzed. Although he lost the use of his legs and most of his upper body, Shane never lost his positive attitude.

Determined to be as independent as possible, Shane found ways to make things work and achieve his goals. He graduated from Windsor High School in 2004 and enrolled in Binghamton University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. In September of 2012, Shane joined the Pride/Quantum Family as a design engineer in Quantum R&D.

During his time at Pride, Shane brought a unique perspective to the table. He used Quantum products and was an engineer, so he understood what our consumers needed and how to bring it to life. Shane was an outstanding asset to the R&D team and the company.

Always looking for ways to help others, Shane was a genuinely nice guy, full of humor and happiness. He loved to watch motorcross races, play cards or catch a Notre Dame football game.

Shane passed away on April 13, 2016, after a brief illness. His legacy lives on, however, in the products he designed to help those with disabilities live their best lives. He will be missed.

Quantum Launches Industry-First Crash-Tested WC19-Compliant Power Seating

Tuesday, October 13, 2015

EXETER, PA – Quantum Rehab® is pleased to announce an industry-first toward enhanced power chair safety with the launch of its crash tested and WC19-compliant iLevel® and TRU-Balance® 3 power seating systems.

WC19 is the ANSI/RESNA testing standard that qualifies the characteristics and testing standards to which mobility devices must pass in order for a wheelchair to serve as an occupied seat in a motor vehicle. Quantum is the first power chair manufacturer to offer power tilt-and-recline, articulating foot platform, and elevating seating that meets the standard.

“Our goal is to provide the safest complex rehab products possible for real-world use,” says Jean Sayre, Senior Director of Quantum Clinical Development. “Many who use complex rehab power chairs need power seating and can’t transfer out of their chairs for transport. As a result, occupied power chair transport in vehicles is vital, and we’ve known the historical limitations on non-crash-tested power seating systems. We’re pleased to be the first in the industry to have power seating that’s fully crash tested and WC19-complient for safer transport.”

WC19-compliant power seating is available on the Quantum Q6 Edge® 2.0 with TRU-Balance® 3 Tilt-and-Recline, Articulating Foot Platform, and iLevel® elevation technology, configured individually or together, with up to a 300 lb. user weight capacity.
